Prayer Text
Is there something you just can’t stop thinking about? You don’t have to deal with it all on your own. Let’s talk to God about what’s on your mind. You can come just as you are.
Here’s what Philippians, chapter four, verses six and seven, says in the World English Bible. "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We can tell God what’s really going on. We don’t need a perfect prayer. We can ask for help, and we can thank Him for something good, even on a hard day. That doesn’t mean we have to pretend everything’s fine. We can be honest about what hurts. If you’re not sure what to say, you can make this prayer your own.
God, You know what’s on my mind. I keep coming back to the same thought, even when I try to think about something else. I don’t have all the answers. Some days, I don’t even know what to ask for. So I’m here. Please listen to what I can say, and help me with what I can’t put into words.
Help me with the thing that’s weighing on me today. Show me what I can do, and help me do it. If I need to wait, help me get through today without trying to solve the whole future. If I need someone’s help, give me the courage to ask. Help me let go of what I can’t control, even if I have to try again tomorrow.
When my thoughts start racing, help me notice what’s around me. Help me take one thing at a time. Remind me to eat, rest, and reach out to someone I trust. Help me listen when someone offers support. And when I still feel afraid, please stay close. I don’t need to hide that from You. Help me be kind to myself while I work through this.
Thank You for the good things I might miss when I’m worried: a kind word, a meal, a little time outside, or someone who checks in. Help me notice those things without pretending the hard parts aren’t there. Help me say thank you to the people who care about me. And show me one small way I can be there for someone else today.
When the worry comes back, help me remember I can talk to You again. Help me choose what to do next, and leave room for rest. Please care for the people I love, and help me trust You with what I can’t fix. Thank You for listening. Help me get through this day with a little more hope. In Jesus’ name, amen.
